What are Threads?
We understand that regular comments can sometimes become overwhelming and scattered. In fact, there are add-ons with more than 30.000 comments, all scattered together and hard to follow. With threads, we provide a seamless and structured environment that allows you to engage in meaningful conversations. A place designed to enhance and organize interactions around your favorite content. Threads allow both users and creators to create topics and discuss within a specific topic - very similar to traditional forums. They also replace the groups feature from the older version of Flightsim.to.
Who can use Threads?
At the moment, threads are available for all add-ons with more than 1,000 downloads.
Why is there an Announcement / FAQ Thread?
Within the Official category, every add-on has an Announcement and Frequently Asked Questions thread. These are official threads for every add-on and they cannot be turned off. Creators can use these threads to post their most recent updates and announcements, or they can use the Frequently Asked Questions thread to address most issues with their add-ons.
The Official category is therefore only available for the add-on creator (while we plan to include Contributors in the future) and read-only to other users. In all other categories, both creators and users can post.
How do Notifications work?
If you want to receive notifications if a creator posts something new in their Announcements thread of an add-on, then you need to follow the add-on. All followers will receive notifications on each new post. Apart from the Announcement notifications, you will receive notifications if someone replied on a thread you created or if someone replied on a thread you replied to as well.
How can creators moderate threads?
At the moment, creators can pin important threads, they can post official threads and they can close or re-open threads.
