The Ponce de Leon Lighthouse is the tallest in Florida at 175 feet (53 m). Located on the Atlantic Ocean between Daytona Beach and Cape Canaveral, it is a popular attraction for tourists vacationing on the Florida coast and at nearby Disney World. Visitors who brave the 203 steps to the top are rewarded with amazing views of the beaches, wetlands, and coastal towns.
The first lighthouse at Ponce de Leon Inlet was built in 1835 to guide shipping toward what was then called Mosquito Inlet. That structure was abandoned during the Second Seminole War, and collapsed soon after. The present lighthouse was opened in 1887, electrified in 1939, and finally decommissioned in 1970. Local citizens worked to conserve the lighthouse and nearby buildings, and it was returned to service in 1982. The lighthouse and support buildings, which now compose the Ponce de Leon Inlet Light Station Museum complex, became a National Historic Landmark in 1998.
The lighthouse in MSFS
If you have photogrammetry enabled in MSFS, you will see a rough representation of the lighthouse. This add-on replaces that lighthouse, but leaves the surrounding museum buildings intact. An easy way to visit is to depart from runway 2 at nearby New Smyrna Beach Municipal Airport (KEVB). You should see the lighthouse at your one o’clock soon after taking off. I have included a point of interest called “Ponce de Leon Lighthouse” for your convenience. If you have POIs turned on in the sim, you should see the indicator.

In case you feel inclined to also recreate St. Augustine Lighthouse (and/or some of the landmarks in St.Augustine like Castillo de San Marcos of Flagler College, Bridge of Lions and the Lightner Museum) it would be greatly appreciated.
