Northwest Airlines PMDG’s 737-900ER (N598NW) - BW & SSW in both 'Clean' and 'Dirty' variations – “Bowling Shoe”
As requested, and accompanying the 737-900, here is the 900ER version of Northwest's "Bowling Shoe" livery.
This Landor Associates livery appeared in 1986 and adorned Northwest's aircraft until being replaced in 2003, quite a few years before the -900ER came onto the market, but here is an imagined version of the aircraft, including split scimitar winglets.
The iconic design featured a red, grey and white scheme, with a very dark blue line throughout, and a classic ‘NORTHWEST’ typeface, and the N arrow logo on the tail.
So, to accompany the -900 N597NW, here is the N598NW, with fleet number 5818, and in keeping with Northwest's lifespan rather than the aircraft, we'll say it was 'manufactured' in 2003 (of course, the first ER was delivered in 2007, and Boeing started using the SSW in 2013). A clean and 'dirty' version is available for both the BW and SSW variants.
Again, the same 'retro' spoof EFB Tablet Wallpaper is included, as in the -900 file
Features:
- An adaptation based on Northwest’s “Bowling Shoe”, with correct logos, colours, and fonts.
- Complete with fictional FAA registration and airworthiness certificates.
- Both 'clean' and 'dirty' versions in both BW and SSW versions, so there are 4 aircraft files in the zip file
- The latest 1.1 version shows updated winglet logos, reflecting the NW's 747 winglets (Thanks to Tinnesse for this suggestion)
Installation:
- Via the PMDG Operations Center, install via PTP
Additional:
- As mentioned above, a ‘retro’ 2003 wallpaper and 2 icon files for PMDG's EFB tablet is included - should replace the originals in ...\Community\pmdg-aircraft-739\html_ui\Pages\VCockpit\Instruments\PMDGTablet\pmdg-737-900\Assets – don’t forget to make copies of the original files.
Your comments are always welcome, relatively new to the livery business so always hoping to improve, and if you like it then I'd be very grateful for your review and star rating! If you feel so inclined to Buy Me a Coffee then I'd be super grateful, but of course I'm just happy if you like it. If you stream or post on social media, please let me know, I'd love to see the liveries in action!
