You have to be a geologist to immediately recognize what is meant by: Cascade Range. It is the range of volcanoes from Northern California through Oregon and Washington to southern British Columbia. There a several Cascades, but the all are a part of the Pacific Ocean’s Ring of Fire. The highest peak in the range is Mount Rainier in Washington at 14,411 feet (4,392 m). All of the eruptions in the contiguous United States over the last 200 years have been from Cascade volcanoes. The two most recent were Lassen Peak from 1914 to 1921 and a major eruption of Mount St. Helens in 1980. Minor eruptions of Mount St. Helens have also occurred since, most recently from 2004 to 2008.
And now you have the opportunity to fly from volcano to volcano. Starting in Northern California you visit the most impressive volcanoes until you reach the Silverthrone Mountain in British Columbia. A total of 1102 nm in 12 legs. Your plane is a Diamond DA 62, but you can change it to any plane of your liking with BuffyGC’s MissionChanger.
The trip is multi-lingual. Basic is American English and then German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Swedish. The translation is machine made.
The flight information is in the NavLog, GPS is available and loaded for those who want to use it. The explanation on the volcanoes and other sights is English spoken, before you reach the Point of Interest. The text is available in the Flight book.
After landing you have to park your plane and shut it down, else the leg will not end.
The trip was made with LittleNavMap by Alexander Barthel and BushTripInjector by BuffyGC. Both are praised for the work.
Included is the Flight book and the printed version of the LNM flight plan and an overview of the translation in an Excel sheet.

I cannot end the first leg, even after parking at the fuel pump and shutting down both engines and battery. What can I do to et to second leg?

Hi,
What I miss in your actions is setting the parking brake. So shut down both engines, shut down avionics, set the battery off, set the generators off and set the parking brake. In the DA62 it jumps back, so you think you have set it but the lever is not in the set position.

Chris,
Always nice to hear from someone. I find vocanoes fascinating and therefore I try to make bushtrips around the Ring of Fire. More to come.
