This is a Noorduyn AT-16 Harvard IIB "HB-RDN" (Former U-323 from the Swiss Airforce) Livery for the Asobo T-6 Texan using the default Asobo North American Aviation T-6 Texan Reno Base Pack.
The File contains:
- a full repaint of the AT-16 Harvard IIB *HB-RDN*
- a full cockpit repaint in it's Swiss Airforce Grey version
The aircraft was completed by the Canadian company Noorduyn Aviation in Montreal, Canada on 29.08.1942.
the acceptance took place on 15.09.1942. The AT-16ND Harvard IIB, serial number c/n 14-201 was built under the USAAF serial no. 42-664
and delivered directly to the Royal Canadian Air Force. From 17.09.1942 to 23.12.1946 it flew 2462 hours under the registration FE467.
The Dutch Fokker-Aviolanda in Amsterdam bought 105 Harvard IIB, which were destined to Holland, Switzerland and Israel.
There they were completely overhauled and on 03.09.1949 the U-323 was taken over by the Swiss Air Force through Hptm Scheitlin.
On 16.09.1969 it was decommissioned from the air force. This U-323 was intended for the Dübendorf Aviation Museum, but was not exhibited due to lack of space.
The aircraft ended up in a concrete shelter at Buochs airfield.
In 2001, however, it received the recognition it deserved into the hands of Peter Zweifel of the warbird restoration company Skyparts GmbH and moved into its new
quarters in Hausen am Albis (ZH). In summer 2007 it became known that Skyparts would completely renovate the U-323. However, the first work had already begun in 2003.
Zweifel was confident that the U-323 in its original military livery would be seen in the Swiss skies in 2008 or 2009. But the work, which was
later taken over by the company MSW Aviation AG of Max Vogelsang in Wohlen, was so extensive that it was not until the summer of 2013, after ten years of work, that the
the U-323, which had been renovated to top condition, was able to take to the skies again.
Around 7000 hours of spare time were invested in the restoration. On 27.05.2013 she was registered as HB-RDN in the Civil Aircraft Register
and on 09.08.2013 the time had finally come the AT-16 could take off for its second maiden flight. Max Vogelsang and Christian Aegerter were in the cockpit.
On 31.12.2019, there was a change of ownership, with the Verein der Freunde der Schweizer Luftwaffe (Friends of the Swiss Air Force) becoming the new owner.
Swiss Air Force (VFL) was entered in the aircraft register as the new owner. But this was not valid for long, because today (2022) Umberto Dünki, Steven Dünki
Florian Jan Gygax and Max Vogelsang are co-owners. The main owner is the Flying League Birrfeld, in Wohlen AG. The AT-16 is based at Birrfeld LSZF (AG/Switzerland).
I hope you'll enjoy flying it as much as I do.

Very nicely done with all the tiny and even tiniest markings and letters covering it ─ excellent work! Though, for me, it looks a tiny little bit too 'pützlet' and polished. I know, it looked exactly like that when I made a backseat flight in HB-RDN some years ago. But when I 'fly' an aircraft myself I prefer a worn 'warbird look', a U-323 version without the HB-RDN. Instead with some scratches and stains. Right BEFORE a new paintjob.
But as a virtual replica of the current U-323 version it easily deserves 5 stars. Thanks!

First of all, a huge thank you for these comments and this very positive evaluation. I appreciate the time taken to notice the details and the work invested in this project. Then I understand perfectly the remark concerning the very "clean" side of the rendering. Indeed it is a choice that had to be made and it is debatable when it comes to aircraft being such a piece of history. but here, RDN has been restored with this very "new" side. So I decided to go for something similar. it is not impossible that one day I work on this base for another version with another registration having served in the Swiss Air Force, leaving it with the traces of its past. in any case thank you very much for these remarks
